The mission of the Association of Cancer Center Administrators (ACCA) is to educate, support, advocate for, and professionally develop the administrative staff who help lead critical activities at both National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers and cancer centers working toward designation.

Our Vision:

We believe that the world ought to be free of pain and suffering caused by cancer. The innovation and discovery needed to achieve this goal, in large part, will be enabled in the institutions that are led by our members. We will aim to do ordinary things extraordinarily well.

Our Core Values:

Integrity.

We’re honest, ethical, trustworthy, transparent, and committed to doing what’s best for our patients, fellow colleagues, and our institution. We openly collaborate in pursuit of the reducing the cancer burden. We have no tolerance for politics, hidden agendas, or passive-aggressive behavior.

Respect.

We recognize that the thoughts, feelings, and backgrounds of others are as important as our own. Everyone deserves equal opportunities. We believe everyone should be seen, heard, valued, and empowered to succeed. Hearing diverse perspectives fuels innovation, deepens connections between people, and makes us a better organization.

Inclusion.

Our world can be frustrating, confusing, and even challenging at times. We have all been there, so we show empathy and act with humility. We’re all human and we respect our patients, partners, and coworkers.

Teamwork.

When people work together, they can create something greater than themselves as individuals.

Commitment.

We constantly push ourselves to be our best, we focus on solutions, and we arrive every day inspired to make an impact through our talents, passion, and hard work.

Innovation.

Innovation motivates action: to take risks, encourage curiosity and new ideas, learn from mistakes, and constantly strive to exceed expectations. Through innovation, we generate solutions for our stakeholders and raise the bar — both within our institution and throughout our society.

Continuous Learning.

We create a culture that promotes curiosity and experimentation. We are passionate about learning, improving, and innovating. We are not afraid to make mistakes and share them with others. We learn from both challenges and successes.
